a. What is a symbol?
Ans: A symbol is a picture or a sign that indicates or represents something.

b. What do the colours in the Indian National Flag symbolise?
Ans: The national flag of India is a tricolour horizontal
band. 
1. It has deep saffron band at the top indicating
strength and courage.
2. The white central band signifies peace, truth and purity of India. 
3. The green colour at the bottom band signifies fertility, growth and prosperity. 

c. Describe the Indian Rupee symbol.
Ans: The currency symbol of the Indian Rupee  is a  combination of  Devanagari ‘Ra’ and the Roman Capital ‘R‘. The two horizontal lines running at the top represent the Indian national flag.

d. State any three features of the national emblem of India.
Ans: The three features of the national Emblem are:
1. We see three
lions standing back to back. The fourth lion is hidden
from our view. All lions are mounted on an abacus.
2. The rectangular frame has a bull on the right, a horse on the left and the Ashok Chakra also known as Dharma Chakra (Wheel of Law) at the centre.
3. The words Satyameva Jayate, which means ‘Truth Alone Triumphs’, are written in Devanagari script below the frame.

 Knead the mixture till and make objects of different shapes (small dish, bowl or any other object of their choice).
