Q1. What is air pollution? Write its causes and preventive measures.

Ans. Air Pollution - When harmful pollutant like smoke from vehicles and factories, fumes from fire and dust particles contaminate the  air and make it unfit for breathing is called air pollution.

CAUSES -

1. Automobile exhaust release harmful gases in the atmosphere.

2. Toxic gases emitted by the industries.

3. Cutting of trees which results increased amount of carbon dioxide and lesser oxygen.

PREVENTIVE MEASURES -

1. Cleaner fuels should be used in generators and vehicles.

2. Public transport should be used more.

3. More trees should be planted.

Q2. What is water pollution? Write its effects.

Ans. When harmful pollutants released into water making it dirty and impure, it is known as water pollution.

EFFECTS -

1. Waterborne diseases.

2. Leads to the death of aquatic animals.

3. It also affects the entire food chain.

Q3. What is land pollution?

Ans. When pollutants gets mixed with soil and makes it infertile and unusable for growing crops, it is called land pollution. Land pollution is also known as soil pollution.
