EVS Homework 2/9/20

 TOPIC TAUGHT - CH 12 POLLUTION

NOISE POLLUTION - When the sound levels are above the normal range and is loud and harmful for human ears as well as for birds and animals it is called noise pollution.

CAUSES - 1) Bursting of crackers

                   2) High volume of TV and radio sets.

                   3) Loudspeakes

                   4) Construction activities

                   5) Machines in factories

                   6) Horns of motor vehicles

EFFECTS - 1) It can cause damage to our eardrums and results in loss of hearing.

                    2) It can have a huge impact on the hearing and stress level of animals and birds leading to the loss of hearing.

                    3) Health hazards such as hypertension, blood pressure, sleep disorder.

PREVENTIVE MEASURES - 1) Silencers and noise absorbing materials should be used in vehicles wherever possible.

2) Use of loudspeakers and bursting of crackers during festivals should be minimized.

3) Keep the volume low .
