LANDFORMS - About 70% of the Earth's surface is covered with water and the remaining 30% is      land. The land is high in some places and low or flat in others. This unevenness gives rise to  its various physical features such as mountains , valleys, plateaus, plains and deserts.These physical features are called landforms or relief features.


MOUNTAIN -   A mountain is a landform higher than the surrounding areas. 

                           A series of mountains arranged in a line is called a mountain range.

                           The top of the mountain is called a peak.

                           Mount Everest is the highest peak in the world.

Watch video of mountain given in your ssd and write answer the following questions in your notebook.

Q1. What is a mountain?

Ans: Mountain is a landform that is higher than the surroundings area .

Q2. What do we call the tip of the mountain?

Ans: Peak

Q3. What is a mountain range?

Ans: A series of mountains arranged in a line is called a mountain range.

Q4. Name one mountain range of north India.

Ans: Himalayan mountain range

Q5. Which is the highest peak of the world?

Ans: Mount Everest.
