Answer the following Questions-

Q1. What is a symbol?

Ans- A symbol is a picture or a sign that indicates or represents something.

Q2. What do the colours in the Indian National Flag symbolise?

Ans- 

  • The saffron band at the top symbolise strength and courage.
  • The white band symbolise peace, truth and purity of India.
  • The green colour symbolise fertility, growth and prosperity.
Q3. Describe the Indian Rupee symbol.
Ans- ·       The currency symbol of the Indian Rupee is a combination of Devanagari ‘Ra’ and the    Roman Capital ‘R‘.
·       The two horizontal lines running at the top represent the Indian national flag.

Q4. State any three features of the national emblem of India.
Ans- 
  • We see three lions standing back to back. The fourth lion is hidden from our view.
  • The rectangular frame has a bull on the right, a horse on the left and the Ashok Chakra at the centre.
  • The words Satyameva Jayate, which means 'Truth Alone Triumphs', are written in Devanagari script below the frame.
