Q1. What is a symbol?
Ans- A symbol is a picture or a sign that indicates or represents something.
Q2. What do the colours in the Indian National Flag symbolise?
Ans-
- The saffron band at the top symbolise strength and courage.
- The white band symbolise peace, truth and purity of India.
- The green colour symbolise fertility, growth and prosperity.
Q3. Describe the Indian Rupee symbol.
Ans- ·
The currency
symbol of the Indian Rupee is a
combination of Devanagari ‘Ra’ and the
Roman Capital ‘R‘.

The two horizontal
lines running at the top represent the Indian national flag.
Q4. State any three features of the national emblem of India.
Ans-
- We see three lions standing back to back. The fourth lion is hidden from our view.
- The rectangular frame has a bull on the right, a horse on the left and the Ashok Chakra at the centre.
- The words Satyameva Jayate, which means 'Truth Alone Triumphs', are written in Devanagari script below the frame.
